If you wish you can go ashore in the town of Soufriére, and check out the pretty little square, the botanical gardens and sulphur baths. There are quite a few restaurants in Soufriére if you wish to sate your appetite with many of the deliciously prepared local dishes on offer.


Popular tourist attractions include the Gros Piton and Petit Piton Trails, Marigot Bay, Fond Doux Estate, Spike waterfall, Toraille Waterfall, New Jerusalem Hot and Cold baths, the En bas Saut Rainforest Trail and waterfall, the Sulphur Springs, Morne Coubaril Estate, the Pitons Waterfall, Soufriére Estate, the Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens, the Livity Arts and Craft Center, and the Anse la Raye Fish fry.


Often we see pods of dolphins swimming with the whales in complete harmony. There are spinners, spotted, bottlenose and Fraser dolphins seen here. They are the oceans performers, leaping as high as 12ft into the air and spinning their their way down into the depths of the ocean, only to surface again, playing in the wake of the boat and bow riding. The usual size of a dolphin pod is between 30 - 60 , but recently we have often spotted them in their hundreds.

Board the "Why Knot" at the Cruise Ship pier at 9:30 a.m. Enjoy a scenic boat ride south along the spectacular west coastline to Soufriére. See sandy beaches, palm and coconut tree lined rivers and the fishing villages of Caneries and Anse La Raye along the way.


10:30 a.m. Disembark the "Why Knot" in the town of Soufriére

home of the world famous Pitons. Tour Soufriére and board a bus to see the active drive in Volcano, The Piton Waterfall and sulphur baths. Enjoy a private beach picnic and swim / snorkel for an hour..


2 p.m. Leave Soufriére and on your return north. On our return to your cruise ship we will visit Marigot Bay. It was described by author James Michener as the most beautiful in the Caribbean.

Soufriére Sunset Photographic Sea Tour

Tour Soufriére Bay and photograph the historical Pitons and Bat caves. Learn local history and photograph the fantastic scenery.

Whale Watching Adventure Tour “Soufriére Bay”

Witness the migration of SPERM WHALES HUMPBACKS, ORCAS, BRYDE'S, PILOTS and DOLPHINS, such as SPOTTED, SPINNERS, BOTTLENOSE, RISSO'S, and FRASERS, also some BEAKED WHALES, FALSE and PYGMY FILLER WHALES and PYGMY SPERM WHALES on their annual migration from northern feeding waters to the Southern Caribbean.


Tours are narrated by trained St. Lucian's with intriguing whale and marine facts.

Tours also feature:

- Onboard binoculars for viewing.


It is common to see pods of dolphins swimming with the whales. The species seen in these waters include spotted, bottle nose, and spinners. They spinners are great fun, leaping high into the air and spinning back down into the ocean. The dolphins often play in the wake of the boat and bow ride. The usual size of a dolphin pod is between 30 - 40, but can number in the hundreds.

Our Boat


"Why Knot"


New 2010 25' Eduardono boat with 200hp Yamaha outboard and Solumbra bimini for comfort. The "Why Knot" is a commercial fiberglass reinforced polyester boat featuring positive flotation throughout and manufactured under rigorous quality standards and specifications. This boat is certified by ISO 9001-2000. The manufacturer follows Coast Guard guidelines and NMMA certification standards.


- Cruising speed 32 knots - maximum speed 45 knots.


This boat is fully licensed, insured and certified by the Saint Lucia Port Authority to transport 10 passengers plus a crew of 2.

Captain


Terry "Mango" Joseph is the skipper of the "Why Knot". He holds a captains license from the Saint Lucia Port Authority as well as first aid training. He is a charter member of the Soufriére Taxi Association and serves as their public relations officer. Mango grew up on the Caribbean and is an excellent tour guide, boat handler, as well as a knowledgeable fisherman.
